My Grandfather, Nicolai Neila was born in Certizne around 1917. He and his family (except one sister) emigrated to Canada in the mid 1920's. His father Stephen first worked in the mines in Northern Ontario and the family ended up in the west end of Toronto. About 2 miles from where I live now!
Stephen's brother Joe emigrated around the same time but went to Pennsylvania to work in the coal mines. My father and I made the pilgrimage to Certizne in 2013 and met some of his first cousins!

My father Michal was born in Certizne in 1902. He married Anna Lehotski (Lehosky) kand emigrated to Canada in the 1920's. Are there any Safran's or Lehosky's living in the Certizne area today, 2024?
